SPRING/SUMMER 2020 UPDATES
As we adjust to the "new normal" of the COVID-19 crisis, French Meadow will post periodic updates on service changes and our emergency responses on this page. Be assured that no matter what adaptations are necessary, we put the safety and well-being of our customers and employees first and foremost. We thank all of you for your patience and ongoing loyal support as we navigate this challenging time. We WILL get through this together!!
OPEN! On-Site Dining Returns
After opening up for patio dining beginning June 1, as of June 10 both our Minneapolis and St. Paul locations are open for dining both indoors and out; in compliance with COVID-19 regulations, we are limited to 50% capacity, we have a minimum of 6 feet distance between tables, and diners must reserve in advance. We urge all customers to wear masks. In addition, we have doubled-down on already strict safety standards, including disinfecting between diners and one-use disposable menus. Reservation links:
Minnesota State Fair
Last year, French Meadow celebrated our 25th year at the Minnesota State Fair. Starting with a single counter in the food building manned by our founder Lynn Gordon, we've expanded and changed with the times, including a major 2009 move to our current building on Carnes Avenue.
Needless to say, we were looking forward to our 26th year this summer, but alas, due to the Covid-19 crisis and the serious health threats posed by large gatherings, the State Fair management has wisely chosen to cancel the fair for 2020. Although hugely disappointing for us and our many loyal customers & fair employees, this is absolutely the wisest choice and we fully support the decision. (Here's the message from State Fair General Manager Jerry Hammer) Never fear, we may wrangle up ideas on how to get people their "fair food fix" between now and August 27, 2021... stay tuned.
In the meantime, here are some social media moments from the past few years plus highlights from our history -- thanks to everyone for sharing the love!
